Sunset Pool is open for the summer season with daily hours from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. through June 2. Tuesday through Friday, May 28 through May 31, enjoy the earlier morning lap swim from 9 to 10 a.m. before open swim starts. Located at 1900 Longs Peak Ave., Sunset Pool is a heated outdoor pool that features six lap lanes, a large wading area, three diving boards and two fast waterslides. Its rebuilt bathhouse includes family-friendly features and a new party room. Daily and pass admissions are available.
Roosevelt and Kanemoto pools open for the summer season at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 1. These heated outdoor pools are geared for youths ages 8 and under, have a maximum depth of less than 3 feet 8 inches, and feature zero-depth entry and an assortment of water features. Daily admittance rates and activity pool season passes are available. Be sure to check out the family days where the whole family can come swim for only $7 ($8.25 for nonresidents): family swim day is Sunday, noon to 5 p.m. Kanemoto also offers beginner swim lessons and parent/tot classes so kids can learn where they play. Centennial Pool and the Longmont Recreation Center are indoor pools and offer lap swimming and open swimming in addition to many swim lessons, swim teams, diving lessons, aerobic classes, birthday parties and private rentals.
The swim beach at Union Reservoir is open for the season with swimming from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday through Sunday, and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Thursday. Open water swims are back at Union Reservoir beginning June 8: 5:45 to 7:15 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday, 8:45 to 10:15 a.m. Saturday, and during June and July, 5:45 to 7:15 a.m. Tuesday and Friday. Enjoy a variety of free concerts from 6:30 to 8 p.m. the second and fourth Tuesdays of June and July at Roosevelt Park. On Thursday, July 4, enjoy a special noon performance by the Longmont Symphony Orchestra at Thompson Park. Come early, bring your lawn chair, blanket and food/beverages (no alcohol), and enjoy fun pre-show activities!
